This bridge, over the Latrobe River, formed part of the Traralgon-Maffra-Stratford Railway, which was opened as far as Heyfield on 13 November 1883. It was built by contractors Lewis P. Moline & James King for the Victorian Railways in 1882-3 and is the third-oldest substantial timber-beam railway bridge surviving in Victoria. Railway bridge, Navigators, is a single span bridge erected in 1860, it is believed, over the track North Geelong to Warrenheip Railway line. The depressed arched structure has battered piers to both sides of the arch and additional piers to close the abutments. The structure is faced with rusticated masonry with drafted edges. This bridge is a segmental brick arch faced with stone and crosses the roadway with a single span of 15.2m at a considerable height, with good and impressive proportions.
